consists of recruited players who have remaining
college eligibility. The CGL is designated as a
Premier League by the National Baseball Congress and
competes against other top Summer Leagues in the NBC
World Series located in Wichita, KS. The CGL is a
charter member of the AAABA and has won 10 national
championships, including five of the last ten.
Entering the 2008 season, more than 50 league alumni
have reached the major leagues, including active
players Mark Teixeira (Texas Rangers), Jon Papelbon
(Boston Red Sox) and Mike O’Connor (Washington
Nationals), while more than 400 other players have
gone on to play in the minor leagues.
